Bikram Yoga Santa Barbara has partnered up with Trees for the Future, a non-profit organization with projects all over the world, primarily in southeast Asia and Africa. Together, we are planting one tree for each student in each class… seven days a week, four weeks a month, 12 months a year!
In 2009, we planted 16,740 trees and 2010 is off to a more promising start! Based on January, February and March 2010 class attendance, 8800 trees were planted in Bumula Village, Bungoma District, Kenya. This region has been devastated by deforestation and global climate change. These beneficial trees not only help protect the land, but also allow the villagers to work with dignity and sustain their precious lands.
We’d like to thank you for being a part of this heartfelt program!
